A Sunday Surprise
Sundays are our day off; as the Lord took a day of rest, so
do we! Today we went to St. James Chapel
for Mass.

And got to spend some time catching up with family and
friends! What a blessing to speak with
our loved ones. And as a part of living
in community we were surprised by the afternoon’s activities. Around 1pm, some of the young girls (about 10
years old) came around to inform us of an archery contest taking place at
2pm. They took down RSVP’s on a loose
leaf paper and wrote sticky note reminders that said “Come at 2:00pm.” One of the single young women made medallions
for each of the kids and I made bags of candies for all of the winners. Ben abandoned our broken car that he was
working on fixing to set up the archery range.
It was all hands on deck!
Raeleigh woke up just in time for the festivities. We gathered on the one of the family’s porch
and all the archers were lined up ready for the 4 rounds of competitions, kids
& adults included.
From the youngest archer:
To the oldest archer:
From the funniest technique:
To the prettiest competitor:
All were winners, or should I say warriors:
And Raeleigh and mama got to watch
When Raeleigh wasn’t trying her own skillz!
